Exodus 20:1-17

-- translated from the Septuagint (LXX)

And Yahweh spoke all these statements, saying, "I am Yahweh your God, who led you out of the land of Egypt, out of a house of slavery.

I "You will not have other gods besides me.
"You will not make yourself an image, nor any likeness, of things in the sky above or of things in the land below or of things in the water underneath the land.
You will not worship them, nor will you serve them.
For I, Yahweh your God, am a jealous god who gives out the sins of the ancestors upon children up to a third and fourth generation to those who hate me, and does mercy for thousands of generations to those who love me and to those who keep what I have arranged for them.

II "You will not take the name of Yahweh your god on deception.
For by no means will Yahweh cleanse the one who takes his name on deception.

III "Remember the day of the sabbaths; make it holy.
Work six days and do all your deeds, but the seventh day is a sabbath to Yahweh your god; do not do any work during it: you and your son and your daughter, your servant-boy and your servant-girl, your ox and your donkey and each of your animals and the stranger who is staying in your house among you.
For in six days Yahweh made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all the things in them, and he stopped on the seventh day. On this account, Yahweh praised the seventh day and made it holy.

IV "Honor your father and mother, so that it will be good for you, and so that you will spend a long good time on the land which Yahweh your god is giving to you.

V "You will not commit adultery.

VI "You will not steal.

VII "You will not murder.

VIII "You will not testify falsely against your neighbor.

IX "You will not strongly desire your neighbor's wife.

X "You will not strongly desire your neighbor's house, nor his field, nor his servant-boy nor his servant-girl nor his ox nor his donkey nor anything that is your neighbor's."
